Sarkara Upperi
This sweet upperi we make at home in Kerala. Now you can get in shops.
It is very tasty and usually serve in Sadyas.
Ingredients
- Raw Plantains..................................3
- Grated Jaggery...............................2 cups
- Cardamom Powder.......................1 tsp
- Dry Ginger Powder........................1tsp
- Roasted Cumin Powder................ 1 tsp
- Sugar............................................1/2 cup
- Oil to fry.
Method
- Cut the plantain lengthwise,equal size thick pieces after removing the skin.
- Heat a pan with oil fry them till they become crispy.

- Heat pan with half cup of water add the jaggery to make syrup
- Add roasted jeera(cumin seeds) powder, cardamom powder2tsp sugar...
- When the syrup becomes thick add the fried bananas.
- When all the chips dried remove from the flame.
- Slowly stir and add 1 tsp sugar,dry ginger powder to make banana pieces crisp and separate.
